Journal 8

I like satire in art like in caricatures. This picture is a Daumier's "Gargantua" from a 1822 newspaper. It depicts King Lousie Phillpe as he takes the bread from the poor and in return, excretes laws. Gargantua is the name of a mythical figure who eats everything in site. My favorite part about this satire is it started newspaper censorship laws in 18th century France.
